Now I am not meaning this to take away from what happened in Arizona because it was a horrible but shootings happen everyday, why all the sudden make a law or change the law just for this one incident when adults and children are killed on a daily basis?
I agree with monkeyhead, I would rather be WELL protected in my home in the case of a home invasion, I don't want to have to worry about reloading....
Also, the laws regarding the mentally ill having firearms really needs to be stricter. I think that whenever someone gets diagnosed with a severe mental illness such as explosive disorders and things of that nature, someone needs to keep up with those patients or plans need to be put in place to make sure that firearms and weapons of any nature need to be kept away from them. Too often those patients get lost in the system and someone gets hurt. I have had a mentally ill family member, that isn't a family member anymore, that given the chance to get his hands on a gun, would have wiped out the house! He scared me just having a case knife..
there ya go, as long as we as a nation are armed, it would be very hard to launch an invasion against an army 250 million strong. Are you guys serious right now? You're using one of the most far fetched ideas possible to defend it? Might as well say "well what if aliens land?", use a little thinking with that one. That's somehow assuming that A)There's a country dumb enough to invade us on our own land and B) gets past the largest and most technologically sophisticated military the world has ever seen. Then after all that, get into a ground war with you....riiiiiight. You can have all the guns you want, there's no push to get rid of all guns or anything close to it, there's just weapons the general public should have no access to plain and simple.
Yeah we have never had an attack on our land, oh wait. Think our troops can run back over here fast enough to protect us if it were to happen?
Besides like I said before those high cap clips would be easy to find even if you ban them. It was not illegal to have them the last time around either.

Sure they would, ASSUMING something like that would ever happen, which is about none. This isn't 1776, ground wars aren't really fought or needed to win a war, it's air and sea and that's been true for a long time. Man power really means little for starters and if by some bizarre chance there would ever be someone that defeated us for that to even be an option..do you think they did it with foot soldiers? It would be a thing called an atomic bomb, so have fun shooting those with your guns.
Not as easy as walking in a store and not that easy, I wouldn't know where to buy one, why would I think he would too? Esp a guy who was so secluded and I have a lot of friends and still don't know where to start...it would obviously help, we can't make everything legal just because there's a black market for it and illegal activity.
Why not foot soldiers, they are used everyday in the war. Would the U.S. really risk bombing itself? I highly doubt it, there would be to much damage to have to rebuild. Just because we do it in other countries does not mean we would do it here. Why would anyone use a nuke to defeat us, the land would be useless and not worth anything to them.
So much for all those bombs that we used in vietnam, we really showed them.
If you can't find those mags then you have given no effort. Go to any gun store or look on the internet.
